The Teal Door Counseling Center is committed to providing medication management as part of our vision to keep everything in one central location. As our practice continues to evolve and grow with the addition of new therapists, we remain dedicated to also offering medication management as an integral part of our treatment to support our patients throughout the process.

Frank Mc Dermott, Nurse Practioner

Frank McDermott has been a dedicated nurse practitioner at The Teal Door Counseling Center for the past five years, showing his dedication and commitment to our patients. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and is a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) from Binghamton University.

With extensive experience, Frank has worked diligently with adolescents and adults, addressing issues such as depression, anxiety, and ADHD. His background includes service as a registered nurse in the behavioral health unit at WMC and as a PMHNP at Four Winds.

Frank is passionate about providing compassionate care and supporting his patients on their mental health journeys. We are truly delighted to have him as part of The Teal Door team.

Sarah Elkin, Nurse Practitioner

Sarah Elkin is a dedicated Nurse Practitioner with years of experience at various hospitals, also including Four Winds Hospital. We are thrilled to welcome her to The Teal Door team in 2025, where she will play a key role in our mission to provide exceptional medication management for our patients.

Board-certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Sarah earned her Master's degree in Nursing in 2018 and her Doctorate of Nursing Practice in 2020, both from Columbia University. Her credentials include DNP and PMHNP-BC.

Sarah specializes in medication management for psychiatric disorders, including anxiety, mood disorders, OCD, and ADHD. She is passionate about treating children, adolescents, and adults throughout their lifespan, ensuring that each patient receives the personalized care they deserve.

As we expand our insurance options, please note that our nurse practitioners are currently on a limited number of insurance panels. We encourage you to call the office to verify if your insurance covers medication management.=
